Yesterday was a holiday and we had plenty of time to cook and plan meals. Today we woke up late and I learned I had to go to a 3 hour training immediately after class in the afternoon and wouldn't have time to go home for dinner. Fortunately, I have a flexible job and was able to go in a little late. I was still able to cook eggs for breakfast and make lunches. In addition to my lunch I also had to make my dinner since I would be eating it between class and the training. And, I had to make sure John knew what to make for dinner (fortunately something easy) before heading to work. Normally, on a day like this I would grab fast food for dinner between activities and tell John to do the same.
Breakfast was 2 fried eggs, and 2 pieces of toast with margarine and grape jelly each. Because of my schedule change I ate my dinner for lunch since I could use the microwave at work to heat it. I had 2 beef and bean burritos with salsa. For dinner I had carrot and celery sticks and 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. John had 2 hotdogs for lunch and 4 beef and bean burritos with salsa, cheese nachos and a salad for dinner.
Total cost of food today was $8.39.
